We are always looking for new members in all Voice Sections. You do not have to read music but you must be able to sing in tune. It is important for your voice to blend in with and not stand out from others as we are a Choir rather a collection of soloists.!
We rehearse every Tuesday and perform about 10 concerts a year in a variety of venues, for different organisations. We normally sing about 17 songs at our concerts. In common with the majority of similar choirs, members are allowed to take music on stage.
We supply all members with legitimate music manuscripts (not photocopies) together with rehearsal and concert folders. Concert uniforms are provided though a contribution towards the cost may be requested.
The Choir is managed by a Committee consisting of Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer together with four members of choir who undertake specific duties. Our Musical Director and Accompanist complete the line-up in an advisory capacity as they are not entitled to vote on any issues. All posts are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
We have an annual subscription to cover our fixed costs such as musicians’ expenses, room hire and choir insurance. It does vary but it is always affordable.
If you would like to hear us sing, come along to one of our rehearsals at the
The Pilkington Pensioners Activity Centre, Ruskin Drive, Dentons Green, St Helens WA10 6RP.
Please give our Secretary, Helen a call beforehand so that we can make sure we have music to hand to you when you arrive. You will be made most welcome.
